Dallas Favorites

The more time I spend in Dallas the more I love it. There’s a lot of good food to be had, here’s some of my favorites.

Breakfast & Coffee

Fount Board & Table

Let me get you hooked on the Brown Butter Hazelnut Latte. Fount is the perfect place to grab a coffee, a sandwich (anything on the menu really, which is fresh and delicious) and answer a few emails then get distracted online shopping. Places to sit, good music playing, kind staff.

Shug’s

The Shug understands what you want from a bagel - and adds a hashbrown for good measure. I love it.

Sadelle’s

Sadelle’s is everything you want in a brunch. It’s cute inside, has good drinks, and a lox tower that is so good (seriously, where do they source their tomatoes?). It’s also located in Highland Park Village for you to do some post brunch shopping.

LDU Coffee

This place makes it feel like you’re the most important person in the world. The smoothest iced oat milk latte I’ve ever had and a fun assortment of pastries. A key to a good day.

La La Land Kind Cafe

Best ham and cheese croissant.

Dinner

Bowen House

My top spot! Such an interesting, accessible menu. Not only is all of the food amazing, the drinks are spectacular. Definitely try to grab a seat in the back room where they make custom drinks to your preference. The escargot is my must-order-everytime. Trust me.

Rodeo Goat

Another Sunday Staple. Perfect to try out new flavor profiles and participate in the “Battle of the Burgers” where two burgers go head to head. The Steaming Pile is the tater tot appetizer of my hungover dreams. Great patio.

Hudson House

Obviously! My favorite place when I want a giant salad that will fill me up. Paired with a martini and you’re set for a good day.

Salsa Limon

The El Capitán is my weekly taco craving. Everything is so well seasoned and the hot sauces are packed with flavor.

Lucky’s Hot Chicken

Retro and comfort meet here at Lucky’s. A solid chicken sandwich, great macaroni, and a free ice cream cone. A Sunday staple.

Royal China

My favorite spot when I’m craving dumplings. A wide menu that has never disappointed to hit when I was missing Chinatown.

Haywire

Southern food done so right. It’s like a warm hug from a grandmother served with fried chicken and more side than Thanksgiving.

Lucia

Lucia is an Italian dream. A changing menu that does not disappoint and a helpful staff to help you narrow it down. Pro tip: get the salami plate (fresh made in house!) as an appetizer, take whatever you don’t eat to go, and make the best grinder of your life at home.

Toulouse

Excellent for patio season. French food and great cocktails. The Toulouse oysters are an absolute must.

Oishii

Best sushi? I think so. The Royce roll is so light and delicious. Reasonably priced for great sushi.

El Carlos Elegante

I am a Duro Hospitality lover. El Carlos Elegante feels so fresh in a sea of Mexican restaurants. The Tuna Toro one hitter is incredible, and you can’t go wrong with El Machete.

The Charles

So nice and cozy. Loved all the pastas and “The Pie”. Pro tip: finish with an espresso, which comes with the best biscotti I’ve ever had.

Sister

Adorable decor, original cocktails, and fish grilled to perfection. Sister is fun and lovable.

Las Palmas

An elevated take on the Cheesy Gordita Crunch? Say less. Las Palmas knows how to do tortillas and margaritas which makes them perfect in my book. Excellent happy hour, great patio.

Wabi House

Wabi House is great ramen. Perfect for cold nights. Double soft egg always.
